jane.jiaen: Flying with jetstar airway (web check in)

Jetstar is an Australian airline. It's a low cost airline owned by Quanta(Australia largest airline and the 2nd oldest airline in the world). In other worlds, Jetstar is something like our Malaysia Fireflyz which is owned by MAS/Malaysia airline.

note: there's only 1 main terminal in KLIA. check in luggage at respective baggage counter at the airport entrance and take aerotrain to boarding gate. jetstar doesn't operate at LCCT/ low cost courier terminal or KLIA 2. The launching of KLIA2 has delayed and it's temporary not available.

There's a few division of Jetstar airway namely Jetstar asia(3K), Jetstar pacific(JQ), Valueair(VF), Jetstar Japan, Jetstar Hongkong. Different division operates different routes and there's different coding for it. different coding has different time schedule. (baggage counter, boarding gate close at different time)

the hub of Jetstar asia (3K) is in Singapore.

baggage allowance- 15kg (maximum 5 pieces) , it doesn't matter if we check in 5 pieces on website and only check in 2 pieces of baggage at the airport.

3) baggage informations

cabin baggage note: 1 carry on baggage + 1 small item ( total weight cannot exceed 10kg )
-carry on baggage (height-56cm, width-36cm, depth-23cm; 3K flight measurement) ,simply equivalent to the polo luggage bag.

-all liquid/gel must be less than 100ml , sealed in plastic bag. (check online for the measurement)

-1 small item ( handbag, camera, umbrella, duty free goods)

-KLIA and Changi airport don't really weight the carry on baggage.

1) boarding pass
- online web check in and print the boarding pass.
- we can check-in at airport using check-in machine.
-boarding pass for jetstar doesn't act act flight ticket. redeem flight ticket at check in baggage counter.
2)flight itinerary
- requested in the travel documentations but they don't really check it.
- itinerary will be sent to together with tax invoice to e-mail after the payment. (click print on the upper right of the e-mail)
- can be resend by requesting it on jetstar website.
3) passport
- required at immigration clearance and act as identity card in foreign country
4) identity card/ic
- required at local immigration clearance
5) Visa (depends on the country)
-Singapore doesn't require visa. traveller is allowed to enter and stay in Singapore for 30days.
